Project Completed by - On-site GeotechnicalProjects completed by On-site Geotechnical: Project 1 | Project 2 Former Jazz PH – Underpinning and Basement WorksThe new owner of the former ‘Jazz’ Public House in Sunderland required a basement to be installed to house the proposed kitchen and new beer cellar. The existing building was without adequate foundations and so had to
be underpinned before full excavation could take place. The underpinning,
constructed in a traditional sequenced “Hit and Miss” fashion,
incorporated the reinforced concrete basement walls including the DPM
and a short slab extension, which later carried the basement floor slab. This inner city project on a busy high street corner was completed safely, on time and within budget. Any difficulties were surmounted by good dialogue with the local council and residents. |
