Felling Metro Station – Supply, fix and prefabricate steel reinforcement

Part of the benefits of having a close relationship with steel suppliers is that OSR can often procure materials in double-quick time. So it proved with OSR’s rail Contract at Felling Metro Station. Materials ordered on Friday afternoon were delivered, cut and bent on the following Thursday ready for installation in the pier base.

The Contract consisted of pier and impost construction necessary to receive a new footbridge. Also, the construction of foundations for a ticket machine canopy. This was carried out, in the main, during normal working hours without interfering with or endangering the rail traffic.

Rebar cages were prefabricated on-site away from the works area to limit the time spent on the busy central platform. Line possession was only required to install and extract the concrete pump delivery system which was fitted under the track.
